It just so happens that me and a mate are in the process of fixing up a cnc machine, which also includes a lathe.....drool!
So many things to make! Anyway, if you have no luck with the guys at work etc, we may be able to have a bit of a go for you.

Yeah its a good idea... The alloy you are thinking of is 6061 T6, which is the highest grade automotive round. 7071 T6 is the flat plate you need.

I've designed some up already, and was going to make them soon.

Also make sure you use reasonably good rose joints, as they make all the difference.

If you want to check out my design let me know, and l'll capture some jpegs of the drawings.

If you can get them machined free, or really cheap then l'll be very interested!!

im thinking of designing and making some adjustable strut tops

well sort of

i was gonna sit down with my mechanic and draw up a design for some

then take the design to work and try to con the machinists into making up the bits on the CNC machines and all the other special tools they have

plan is to use aircraft style alloy, using two appropriately shaped plates to sandwhich the bearing, then have adjustment for camber and castor

im not sure if this is gonna work or if i can get the machinists at work to make even one or more sets but im gonna give it a shot and was wondering if people would be interested if i could get a few sets made up

i would have no idea of price but the idea is to be a fair bit cheaper than the ones ive seen for sale (over $500 for the pair) otherwise i wont bother
