Andrew, 1175-880= 295 extra ballast you will need to incorporate into your car.
You will be close to V8 supercar weight!!! They are 1250kgs.......
I will be running a 1400cc at 875kgs....I will need ballast as well to get to that. probably 150kgs...!!!!!!!

Does a driver who weighs a bit more now than they used too, count as balast............LOL

Ok Guys..you can stop freaking out now......

The minimum weight rule is for "Late Model" class only...cars built after 1986.

For Early model cars there is no minimum weight requirement. I would imagine that you should be running around the 850kg zone. It is rumoured that the lap record at Mallala - Adam Allen in a SR20DET 1200 Coupe, weighs in at 850kg including driver!

So get the car as light as you possibly can....it will be well worth the extra effort.

Thanks Mark...yeah i freaked myself a bit there too. It said no where in the Cams manual in regards to the age of the car.....must be an addemdum???????

I think you will find that any rules in the CAMS manual from #17 onwards relate only to Late Model cars.

Thanks guys that weight was scaring me a little, thought i might have to get the old roofing lead out again, i used to be such a skinny kid that in sprint karts we had so much lead on my kart seat we could hardly pick the thing up
