if you manufacture or modify any brackets etc to fit seats you need engineer approval (and a mod plate) in QLD

what about race harnesses what have you got in yours Harry I can't remember your setup??
Do you need them approved too??

you are not required to run harnesses unless you have a rollcage. I still use a lap/sash belt at the moment, but will be getting a cage later in the year.
only belts which conform to Australian Standards are legal for road use. Basically, you can only legally use a 2" harness which has Australian Standards identification, as no 3" webbing has been put through the expensive process of Aus Stds testing. I don't know what the laws are regarding the harness interfering with rear seating... I reckon you're better off with the normal lap/sash belt for a street driven car anyway. Harnesses are a pain in the butt to use all the time, and if you don't have a cage, you probably don't want to be held bolt upright if the car rolls... You can view topic.
