d,easiest way to tell if it's a jap assembled stanza is the blank-off plates on the front guards where the mirrors are mounted in japan.saves you having to stick your head under the back.or just check the master cylinder, the right stanza has a two reservoir master cylinder, like the 1200.i've got a 3.7 ratio here, but i'm in the wrong state for an easy sale,i suppose.if you could get the backlash right, the 3.5 ratio could work, but it'd be a hell of a stroke of luck for this to happen.you'd use the crown wheel from a 3.89 (35 teeth) & the pinion from a 3.7(10) for 35:10 or 3.5:1.

bump

its been years but can anyone confirm if mixing matching might be possible?
The reason I ask is that some pinions with the same number of teeth seem to be
used for more than one diff ratio.

Ive read in the tech wiki that a 3.545 was available in the US for the h150.

Mixing the 11 tooth pinion with a 35 teeth crownwheel would be awesome

3.1818, just right for a 4 speed and low rpm boosted torque

I was just asking this question based on my car knowledge the other day but in relation to motorcycles cos I noticed one of the mechs only replaced the rear sprocket for the different size one. They rekon the bike one is fine cos of the chain tensioner but had no idea about the car stuff. Go figure

I wouldn't bank on it being possible to mix and match. Maybe if there was just one tooth difference they'd use similar curves/spacing between teeth , but overall, the crownwheel diameter itself doesn't change much, but the tooth count does, which suggests they won't be compatible.

The fact that they are hypoid (i.e. the pinion and axle centre lines are aligned, they are offset from one another) makes it highly unlikely to say the least.

So the answer again seems unlikely.

Now who would be interested in some H150 3.545 from the states?
