To use the A-14 crank, you'll have to find shorter connecting rods. If you don't, the pistons will pop out of the top of the bores. Or crash into the head, if you got that far before turning the crank during the build! They, Nissan, raised the deck height when they "stroked" the engine.

A14 pistons give you close to 1300cc

sounds kinda like my motor, except the 1400 bit, so all i gotta do is build an a-12 block with a-14 gear to get an extra 32Hp, sounds good to me
use of a-12 block is to comply with rally rules

10.1:1 compression ratio .ported head ,doubble valve springs ,wild cam should make power between 4500rpm to 9000rpm,lightend flywheel ,balenced bottom end ,A14 pistons, twin 40 ml dellorto's ,extractors

A few months back, at the Datsun Nationals in Sydney.. I saw an A15 powered 1000 Coupe get 76kW (could have been 78) at the wheels. That's the same amount as my old CA18DET Which got 78rwkW ...We all agree now that there was something wrong with my old CA. But that fellas 1000 was an inspiration. It really made some noise on the dyno..very cool.

yea my datto was dynoed at 78hp at the rear wheels which is close enough to 100 horse at the flywheel but theres also the fact that each dyno is slightly different so as 1200rallycar said talk is cheep lets race.

so theory has it, an a12 with twin carbs, 4 into one extractors, big cam and possibly higher comp would get aprox 100 hp... at the wheels, with a tail wind? cheaply?
