No one ever said motorsport was cheap.. My 2 stepsons race karts and that is supposed to be cheap too but it's not. Their 2 karts owe at least 5 grand each and they have to have all the safety gear , helmets, gloves and overalls. Plus we have a trailer to move them everywhere. With club and licence fees it costs over $300.00 a year plus entry fees for away meetings. I spend a least 1 day a week with them stripping and cleaning everything after a meeting plus repairing /replacing parts. They practice at least once a month plus they have a race meeting a month too. They are having more fun than me!!! They are both quite a few years from finding jobs so guess who has to pay for everything ?? I don't know for how long they will be interested but they have gained some great skills as a result and their tactical planning is getting stronger too. I hope the youngest will stick at it and eventually slip into my Dattos race seat so I can watch it get enjoyed by some one else...
I would rather pay club memberships to keep them out of trouble and wasting their (my) money paying fines .

$270 is cheaper than a set of carbies ...
What about "I can't drive 55" by Hagar? 55mph (about 95kph) was the US top speed limit for 15 years or so.

but when you buy carbies you actually get something
obviously your going to have to pay something for a license but 270 PER YEAR is huge i dont like to bad mouth cams because they do a lot of good stuff, but trying to communicate with them is a nightmare, they make rules and then wont even tell you what they are (regarding homoligation) i have no idea what your talking about ""I can't drive 55" by Hagar"???

Sammy Hagar is/was the second lead singer for Van Halen. Prior to that he had a hit song as named above. The theme was that his car just couldn't drive that slow (or something like that). Sounds like it might fit your car

You don't know who Sammy Hagar is??? That song is a classic. Hagar fronted for Van Halen after David Lee Roth left. He often did the song in the VH shows. That reminds me "panama" by Van Halen is another classic driving song. Jeez, I saw Van Halen at LA Coleseium in 1984 where they parachuted into the show, it's up there with one of my favorite all time concerts.

Stirlo, I cant think of any concert that tops the 1984 Van Halen one. Ive been to some crackers but that takes the cake. Feral, Ive also got a Sunny rally car on top of my circuit car which covers all bases. I enjoy both disciplines. Rallycar- $270 is cheap compared to my CAMS licence...I have a C3 and R5 which costs over $600 per year....Motorsport is exy but what beats it. By the way you can still get fined out on the racetrack. I still have $200 fine outstanding for my latest mistake. But the clincher is you can get fined as many times as you want....not that that's my goal..it just happens when youre on the limit at 10 tenths at 100% CPU.

hey 1200rallycar,
if you're from melbounrne, can't you go to either sandown or calder park? they have track days every known and then, i'm not sure how much entry fee it is, but i don't think it's a lot. You can view topic.
