Rallycar what I'm about to say is likely to sound arrogant and condescending so I will apologize up front as I don't mean it too
First off what are you doing sliding you're car around on open roads , pavement or gravel. (This is begging for it) The radio theory is very interesting but you more than likely were blessed with a good bit of natural driving talent and that is what allows you to drive the car on the limit - the good music just happens to be adding to the experiance. If you really want to hang the car out you have to go to a track day or competiton event. The compliant about the license fee doesn't hold water - $270 a year is only $22.50 a month. If you throw in two trackdays ,4 or 5 Autocrosses/Gymkanas and a couple of Dirt Autocross/Rallycross you racing would cost you about$75 per month. That is pretty cheap if you ask me. Keep in mind with this kind of budget you will likely not be running many trick parts and you will be milking tires way past there sell by date but even the slowest car on track is still faster than a set a bleachers. The reason those who go to the track always sound so arrogant about finding the limits of a car off a Track/Stage is because honestly you simply cannot find the limit on open roads. Public roads typically have alot of surface debris - tracks get sweeped clean as cars circulate and rubber build up increases the grip. Stages also getted sweeped clean. Also at a competion event you get 10 years worth of aggressive street driving in one day. Figure out whatever you have to do to get to track days or other competition events - even if it means eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the month after the event , trust me it will be worth it. Tom Grossmann PS on the Elsinore don't you guys have vintage MX like we do in the states?

just thinking again......
my driving style i was talking about learning was sliding the car as in a rally not keeping it straight like circuit racing thats prob why all the circuit boys cant see my logic oh and if you know so much why the hell would you give your daughters 120y's when they are just gonna be in the shadow of 1200's all the time?

in my opion
and this may sound extreme but the people will begin rebelling taking peoples cars and excessive speed cameras and fines will drive people over the edge the number of people driving dangerous #### boxes (cause their good car was confiscated) with suspended licences will also increase and its all good and well to say that im so great cause i grew up around the track and so have my daughters, but it takes a lot of money to do that and you need a rich daddy soon i will be making a good wage and be able to support my own motorsport hobby but at the moment im just trying to get whatever experience i can before i get into it full swing good on you for laughing at my suggestion, cause it just makes me more passionate and also makes it more enjoyable when i beat all these daddies boys that think they know how it all works, the "proper" way to race

i think the government should use the $$ they get from speeding tickets to subsidise track-day costs. rather than condem road racing they should organise safe places for the "boy racers" to go.

Try any thing from CCR I know they kept me insane whilst driving around the windy parts of northern NSW for 2 years. PS there are some really good roads for rallying but you have to look out for kombie vans on high!

hey 1200rallycar,
if you're from melbounrne, can't you go to either sandown or calder park? they have track days every known and then, i'm not sure how much entry fee it is, but i don't think it's a lot.

Stirlo, I cant think of any concert that tops the 1984 Van Halen one. Ive been to some crackers but that takes the cake. Feral, Ive also got a Sunny rally car on top of my circuit car which covers all bases. I enjoy both disciplines. Rallycar- $270 is cheap compared to my CAMS licence...I have a C3 and R5 which costs over $600 per year....Motorsport is exy but what beats it. By the way you can still get fined out on the racetrack. I still have $200 fine outstanding for my latest mistake. But the clincher is you can get fined as many times as you want....not that that's my goal..it just happens when youre on the limit at 10 tenths at 100% CPU.
