nutcase, have you done the Z car strut swap?

They have a wider bolt spacing at the base than other Datsun struts, so you'll have to get the Z steering arm as well as a minimum.

What lower control arm/ball joint did you use?

Did the 1200 outer tie-rod end fit the Z steering arm?

If you are just wanting better brakes Wilwood makes a caliper called a Dyna-light these come in 2 and 4 pistion. US hot rodders use them because the will fit over 1/2 thick non-vented rotors price is $125 US.You would have to fab a carrier but that is easy as you will just need a flat plate.

Dude..... I know that the disc brake set up may look good and pending how good you are with spanna not to hard to convert but honestly weather it is track work or whatever there really isnt a lot of difference from drum to disc on the rear of a small car.

Reason being is that under braking either hard or soft, you transfer the majority of the weight to the front of the car (pivoting) meaning that your rear brakes do little. Unless you are going to have adjustable brake bias which most track cars will have you are better of spending your money on some go fast bits or for that point better front rotors or calipers maybe...... only a thought i hope it helps

BULLSHIET to both peddler and nutcase!!!!!!!!!!!

peddler try driving without back brakes, they do heaps, my backs wernt working for a couple of days and the ####in fronts lock up so much i couldnt stop for anything in a hurry (if the lights changed i had to just keep going through), ended up hitting someone elses car on day 3

and nutcase you make the conversion sound easy but it is a BIG job your talking about, you have to change discs, spring cups, machine calipers, prob make up castor rods (not sure bout steering arms), find springs that sit the right height.

i have pics of hi-lux 4 spots on my stanza struts and with vented discs, i know what is involved and have also considered using 240K struts and have heard whats involved in fitting these, it definately is not a case of just switching over like you seem to imply

He meant to type Diff (Differential). The 120Y's in Australia came with an Australian-only Borg Warner Diff. The imported ones had a smaller diff.

Dilop, where are you from?

Cheers,
Chris
