that's definitely a h165 housing in the photo,exactly the same as one i just swapped to a mate for a race seat & some rear shocks.i always usd to put studs in,usually from the h145 housing i was pulling out,as i didn't want to strip threads in the housing through constant diff swaps.torque setting - strip thread then 1/2 turn back.

anyone know a good oil to use in them? and how much?

Use 90w oil. Fill it up until it runs out the filler hole, that's the proper level.

more on the differential oil question.
90w is used for temperatures of 0-40 Celsius (32-104 F) per Nissan If you live in a place with a wider temperature range, a multi-weight oil could be used like maybe 50w-140 (?). If you have a limited slip diff (LSD) you need to add an additive to the oil per the recommendation of the LSD maker.
