I have just een in the parts fiche and there was no 5 speed option for either B110 or 210. Only sunny got 5 speed options.

Is the box body the same size in diameter as a 1200 (56A) four speed, or the same as your 60A box?

im not sure, actually i thought it was 56a???

now im getting confused, is there a 56a 5-speed, im not sure about the size question, it has webbing on the casing if that makes a diffrence

man there is some weird #### going on

the tech section says there are 56a and 60a 5-speeds and that b210's came with 5-speeds somewhere?

56A 5 speeds were available in japan and there also was the nismo 1:1 56A 5 speeds.

In F460A 4 speeds you could two different sets of ratios.

The parts fiche shows no 120Y 5 speeds

i dunno what a fiche is but i pressume thta means they wernt made?

looks like im going to have to measure it up against my other and see if i can work out the ratios

or maybe

i could just pressume the 7 means its a 7-speed gearbox and sell it as that hehe

i had a play today, it seems to be .8 ratio fifth

it doesnt look like the sunny box pictured next to the vanette one in the other thread, it has heaps more webbing on the bell housing but the extension may be the same

wish i had my digi cam this week

I know B110's could be had with 5 speeds in Japan in the GX-5 model but I'd guess they are very rare. Not sure about B210's though. I have a Japanese B210 brochure and the only ones in that with a 5 speed are the L series powered excellent models. I would have thought that if they had a 5 speed to use in the B110 they would have used it at some time in a B210. I know that no B110 or B210 here ever came with a 5 speed, only B310 coupes came with them and then only on A14 or A15 powered models.I think the new one I have is a FS5W60A.

The USA got B210s with factory 5-speed transmissions. Sounds like England and Australia didn't get them.

Here's an advertisement for one:

Ah yes, I just had a look through some service bulletins. Looks like that arrived in '77. It's an FS5W63A.

Eddie, you must have a treasure trove of Nissan documents.

Am I right in thinking this?
- 56 series trans: small, light as in original B110 4-speed with visible ribs along case. The 5-speed versions were 1:1 fifth-gear "direct [trans]mission"
- 60 series trans: smooth-case medium-size trans as in B310
- 63 series trans: large trans commonly used with L-series engines, a version was also fitted to B210s. The 5-speed version is a "dogleg" shifter
