Daniel,
From memory, an el xr6 auto is good for low 15s qtr miles. Tell him hes a butt head who doesnt know sh!t. Just make sure u get that cam sorted, something full on. im sure those guys who are doing the work for you know whats going on. Because u have a manual u already have an advantage on launch as long as the tires match. And yes, bet the money. and if u really wanna freak him out and make him back out, do this....come to work one day with a big smile on you face, when he asks you what you are smiling about, ask him if he wants to ten fold the bet...he'll be freaking out, if he asks you why, dont tell him. that kind of confidence cant be fake (can it, heh heh). he will back out of the bet all together, all at the expense of your bluff. If he doesnt pull out and u win then he'll be in debt to the new datsun king, if he doesnt pull out and u lose, then go to the nearest airport, buy a ticket to Mexico AND GET YOUR A$$ THE HECK OUT OF THE COUNTRY.

A nissan R32 GTR will do mid to low 13s. A GTR V-spec will do high 12s. i have seen a standard R34GTR V-spec pull a 12.8 against an NSX Type S-zero on a Best Motoring performance video (Propaganda?). This is very close to the mark, im sure many of you have variations on this, thats fine im just trying to clear it up a little. To say a GTR will do 14s does them no justice, no offence converted, if u would like to contest this you are more than welcome. once again to ofefnce intended. perhaps you were refering to a gts4? still, may be slower than 14.2s.

I reckon you'll go close too...you'll certainly get him at the start..so practise your standing starts and even take it to the Creek for some runs against other cars similar to the one youre running. Tell him in the meantime that if you had the money to spend on your ute that he spent on his XR6, then you wouldbeat him in every aspect with the Datto, including looks!!
I watched a race at the old Seven Hills round about between a 1200 Ute and a R33 GTS-T Skyline and the ute got him at the start, but the Skyline was slowly getting it back after 100m. By the way I would never endorse street racing, try and get him to race you at the creek when youre ready. You mentioned that your engine is being built by Jeff Taylor,,,youre definately in good hands there, and Johns suspesion geometry will help get the power to the ground.

Mines designed for 25-30 psi...

Forgies, shotpeened rods and a good Ballbearing turbo..is all you need...and put it in a 1200..

whooosh..good for 11s at least...
