E15 has pin height of 32.5mm and 19mm pin

A15 has pin height of 30mm and 19mm pin

A12 has pin height of 32.4mm and 17.85mm pin

Mazda pistons I use have pin height of 30.58mm and pin diam of 20mm

Dowload the ACL catalogue. It can be helpful sometimes.

D, Pitroad says they offset-bore the blocks for the 79mm bore (IIRC -- check out the Pitroad english site). On their BBS, Pitroad even referred to a post in our main forum when answering the question!

There is a pic of a-series crank sensor in the photo album.

Thank goodness for PRoad Oh and thanks for that direction. I heard also that not all blocks can take the 79mm as it all depends on the cast and how much meat they have to work with. Blocks vary so its a bit of a lucky dip I hear. The crank angle sensor would be lovely however does it need a programmer to set up?

what does it take to install a crank angle sensor, im loving the idea of removing all the accesories on the motor so it looks small tidy and simple

Crank angle sensor is simple. It replaces the points with a sensor, so instead of hooking up the coil wiring to the dizzy, the wires are attached to the sensor (more or less).

It does not replace the distributor itself meaning you still attach the four sparkplug leads to the distributor cap.

E15 rods have a 44mm big end journal id and A14/15 rods have an id of 48.1. The E15ET rods are2.5mm narrower than the A series rods though
Centre to centre length of the E15 is 137.5 so are 4.5mm longer than the A14/15

The rods cannot be modified to suit A series engines due to the con rod bolt hole spacing.

Of interest is the L20A rod that is the same dimension in the bottom end as the A14 rod, but uses a 20 mm gudgeon pin. The body of the rod is skinnier though. Pic being posted now.

oh is that all it is?

i thought you could replace dizzy with crank angle sensor and coil packs???

im getting an elec dizzy which would make a crank angle sensor useless to me anyway in that case

Crank angle sensor is just ... a sensor.

You can get ignition systems for four coils, or standard coil. Yes, you can use a crank angle sensor with a distributorless system.

The electronic distributor works very well, and goes up to higher rpms than a point system can. The A12GX used dual points to extend the dwell at higher rpms. The electronic system doesn't need that kind of complexity.

The same with me id like to remove the dizzy but to keep it to run crank angle setup defeats the purpose. Love to get my hands on an electromotive setup which eliminates the dizzy.
About the conrods then its amazing they turboed this engine to 250+hp before they fall apart. Well thats maybe using different con rods and other stuff as the case most likely in that 85? bathurst exa driven by a fast chick. E15T smaller mains explain their problems with durability.
L20a rods skinnier than a14 ones? thats a find and a halve. go the little big internally boned A.
