I now know that you didn't grow up on reading "Street Machine" magazine. I've got 3 or 4 years worth of copies, and gear drives, Gilmour Belts and B&M 6/71 Blowers were all I thought about. The Gilmour Belt is a straight toothed belt, like the CA18 timing belt. You need to run it on blowers because if they slip, you lose power Unlike a timing belt, where you lose several valves, and maybe a conrod..

On a NA A12, the gilmour drive is a "show only" add-on. It's effectively a "rice" addition. It can make a nice noise I suppose..

Of course...the one pulley thing. It'd cost an arm and a leg to get all of the ratios right. I bet there'd be plenty of maths involved before going off and making the pulleys. Buying them would mean a custom job, I'd think. But good point.

Hey! I did grow up reading "Street Machine" ... but I didn't really want the Gilmer Belt setup until I saw MadMax ... how's that for cross-culture?
