Whoever said a B-210 axle will bolt right in a 1200 needs to have his butt kicked! I think I was one of the ones who said it, and i got my butt kicked by it last night!
To get Gilligan ready to deliver to his new owner, I wanted to swap out the 4.11 R&P for a stock 1200 punkin. Well, turns out the two complete axles I had in storage were both B-210 units. I took the most stock one and spent an hour or two in the 117 degree Texas heat trying to fit it.
To make a short story long, the "U" bolts and lower plates are slightly different on a B-210 and the 1200 stuff wouldn't fit. I finally gave up and put in an incomplete, no brake hardware except drums, 1200 axle just to get the thing rolling again.
I'll 'splain all of it to the purchaser and offer parts to make it right. I think he's planning to use his own axle anyway. I hope so, I want my brake drums back!

I'm not surprised that B210 axle shafts and pumpkin don't fit into a B110 housing. B210 uses H150, B110 has H145.

Or do you mean the complete rear axle assembly didn't bolt in? I thought you just had to use the matching U-bolts and plate (B210 U-bolts and plate with B210 housing).

Or maybe it was coupe/sedan thing. The 2-drs have differing shock mounts that tie into the spring plate.

That was what I meant. I tried to use the 1200 "U" bolts and lower plate. If it hadn't been so hot out, I may have fought with the mother Alien (see post about black widow spiders) and tried to find the matching bolts and plates.

Many of us have this ...

1974 B-210: 3.90
1975-1979 4sp and auto: 3.89
1975-1979 5sp 3.70
(1979 is a B310, but uses the same Ring & Pinion)

Thx! Now what year did the dogleg 5spd come in the B210 GX? I saw a GX in the wrecking yard, and it had a 5spd, but it wasn't a dog leg.

All the B-210 5-speeds were doglegs, I think. The B-210 MPG also had a five speeed. Do you have the Hollander parts list? It shows the interchange.
