rb20 is out of a r32 gtst skyline rb30 is out of vl turbo... the rb20det if u are willing 2 go 2 this extra trouble 2 put a rb20 in why not try and put a rb25det? lot more power

Dodgeman...people have been fitting oversized engines into cars since the creation of the earth...but the question is will the chassis dymanics allow the car to turn a corner at speed....thats real engineering. The Blitzen Benz was made in 1909 by Mercedes...for the land speed record of 141.37mph in 1911 . It had a 4 cylinder 21.5 litre engine in it. I redlined at 1500 rpm and had 200 HP...but the car couldnt turn a corner.
I think you should have the smallest engine to start with ie A-series and work on the chassis and handling dynamics first. Once the chassis outclasses the power and the drivers up to it...then think extra HP/cubes

Harry...Im an aircraft techo and its true in regards to ground testing as well. I saw the only working Spitfire in Aus owned and flown by Col Payne which has a Merlin taxiing for take off at the 1988 RAAF airshow in Richmond. He gave it too much throttle and it torqued the wing and prop into the ground. Also, on take off, if you didnt give it heaps of rudder when the wheels left the ground, the torque would twist you into the ground. Alot of pilots in WW2 were caught out by this...not Australian ones of course.

2200BHP most likely to come out of the RR Griffon which was based on the R engine---25% bigger in Capacity than the Merlin but only about 5% bigger in dimensions.
I could be wrong, but its worth the ask.

RR Merlin 5.4 inch bore by 6 inch stroke gives about 27 litres.
Griffon 6 inch bore by 6.5 inch stroke gives about 34 litres (or liters for Dave Gonzales).
