Ahhhh, it IS you.
First up, i gotta say a big thank you for the help you gave me that day. It was really appreciated. I came back looking for you as i figured the least i could do was to shout you a cola or something, but i couldn't see you anywhere.
I still owe you one & your help was very much appreciated.
Now, as for the eighties, I dont remember the stock 60's car scene, but i do remember all sorts of conversions that amounted to a total waste of effort, like FJ Holden engines in Austin A40's & Simca Aronde's. I actually went for a ride in a Vedette powered Lo-Lite Morris. The engineering was not up to todays standards & it was a scarey ride for that reason alone. Hell, only mummys boys wore seat belts & REAL CARS didn't have them. That made it doubly scarey.
My B10 was my transport car & my Dodges were my life. They still are to a large degree.
As i had writen before [9th entry in this thread] i had a Morris as my first car. It cost me 50 quid & my thoughts don't bear repeating. I had the rear springs reset to lower it 2" & the front torsion bars were reassembled to lower it a similar amount. With 4 stud Falcon wheels & new Goodyear G8 crossply tyres it looked OK at the time, but it had all the performance of a crippled slug. My stock 1000 would blow it away on 3 cylinders & i loved it. [still do]
I plan to go to Taree to pick up a new Coupe front apron panel this week [$5.50] so i will see about the rear of the coupe when i return. Thanks again for your help,.... both of you.
