So if its straight fit then it wont cost a lot just a matter of taking my engine off the car and putting the A14 one.
no modifications at all? cool Thanks Dodgeman!

What about the exhaust flange dogeman i think the A14 has a 3 bolt lange whereas the A12 onla a 2 bolt. If so razor you will need to get a exhaust place to cut the A12 one of and weld on the A14. A relativerly cheap process. And if thats the only mods your laughing.

this is a simple change over it will all just fall into place the exhaust flange is not a prob. i've only seen 3 bolt flanges on import engines, i thought austr. delivered vehicles had a 2 bolt flange?
it doesn't really matter a14/a15 what ever you can get your hands on in reasonable cond.you can change your flywheel overto the new eng.(lighter) good luck!

I had forgotten about the 3 bolt flange, but i too believe that they are an import item. At worst, ti would be a matter of geting a section of pipe & the relevant fittings from the donor vehicle, or some new parts, but like "Sunny" it think that the A14 is the same for Aust vehicles.
If this is the hardest part of an engine upgrade, then we got no problems. Chris

If you want to kick it up a notch we can re-grind your stock cam for you, that is if you wish. I have several profiles which will work great with a 32/36 or 38/38
Let me know. Richard

Razor. The guys have given you great ideas with the A14/A15 engine conversion.
I also wanted to do it in my 1200GX but due to cost I am going to stay at my A12GX and do some upgrades to it. VERY IMPORTANT: Work out how much everything is going to cost before you start and then decide if you still want to do it. That is what I did and saw it is still going to be too much for me. If you stay with the A12 may I suggest the following: 32/36 weber or twin 40mmDCOE webers. Gasflow and ported head. Performance cam. 276 degrees to be still drivable in town. That will up performance much more over standard form. Good luck You can view topic.
