If you want to kick it up a notch we can re-grind your stock cam for you, that is if you wish. I have several profiles which will work great with a 32/36 or 38/38

Let me know.

I had forgotten about the 3 bolt flange, but i too believe that they are an import item. At worst, ti would be a matter of geting a section of pipe & the relevant fittings from the donor vehicle, or some new parts, but like "Sunny" it think that the A14 is the same for Aust vehicles.
If this is the hardest part of an engine upgrade, then we got no problems.

this is a simple change over it will all just fall into place the exhaust flange is not a prob. i've only seen 3 bolt flanges on import engines, i thought austr. delivered vehicles had a 2 bolt flange?
it doesn't really matter a14/a15 what ever you can get your hands on in reasonable cond.you can change your flywheel overto the new eng.(lighter)
good luck!

What about the exhaust flange dogeman i think the A14 has a 3 bolt lange whereas the A12 onla a 2 bolt. If so razor you will need to get a exhaust place to cut the A12 one of and weld on the A14. A relativerly cheap process. And if thats the only mods your laughing.

So if its straight fit then it wont cost a lot just a matter of taking my engine off the car and putting the A14 one.
no modifications at all?
cool
Thanks Dodgeman!

Razor is driving a Sunny, so NO engine mount mods are necessary. The A14 came in the Sunny STATION WAGON, so if you get one from one of these, the conversion from a Sunny [wagon] into a Sunny [other] has gotta be a doddle.

I believe that A15's are commonly seen in the smaller Nissan Vanette's & have a longer stroke to bump up the torque. In stock, or near stock trim, these commercial model engines will not really make your car much faster. A little quicker perhaps, but not much faster. I suggest the A14 option.
Chris
P.S.
The engine mount mod is only necessary when fitting '74 & later "A" series engines into '73 & earlier "B" series Datsuns & the chassis bracket needs to be extended rearward to pick up the engine bracket on the right side only. We wont go into the reverse option as very few will fit an A10 into a Sunny Wagon.

The A14 will almost go straight in you only need to weld an extension onto the mounts as the are slightly further foward or back (i can nver remember which) than those on the A12. Very simple process and not much more than upgading your exhaust or carbie/s.
