I've just got a set of 6 inches in the door skins running off a single head unit - I was actually quite impressed with the sound as its only a small cabin.
Depends what you want - personally I'm not a huge car audio freak, I just wanted some tunes - but as I said I was quite surprised.

No they don't usually hit because of the quarter vents. This means you have more clearance in the door where the door glass runs down. I got away without using door pods or anything.
I bought a high quality set of 6's and I'm still surprised at the bass they put out. It all sounds nice and crisp and clear. Make sure you spend a bit of time sound deadening the inside of the door and stop all the rattles etc inside the door before the door trims go back on - you can learn from my mistake cause I didn't think they would be that loud Anyway I'll get around to it one day..........along with everything else.

u can get away with fitting 6 inch two ways behind ur seats, juts gotta make a speaker box that is fairly thin. its a bit baffled but u fade more power to the back and u get real good sound., just make sure if u have drivers seats that slide dont have it completely back or u will dent the front grill like i did haha.

Heya,
I am running a two channel kenwoood amp, a pioneer head deck and kenwood 3 way 6x9's in the doors. If you take off the door panel, you can see (drivers side) that the bottom left has a section cut out already. Just use tin snips and a file to cut out a section so the 6x9's fit in and away you go. The doors are quite deep and so a shallow/medium set of 6x9 fit and the sound is excellent.

I've got 5 1/4's in the kickpanels and 6X9s in boxes behind the seats running off the deck. Sounds great but like you guys said... I too am not a car audio freak.

I've only got a kenwood head deck and a set of kenwood 6x9's, seeing that the cab is so small you don't need a big stereo not unless you're one of those people who spends way too much money on stereo equipment, tring to impress everyone.

Maybe its not a case of trying to impress everyone. A cheap and very effective 2 channel amp can cost as little as $120 and rather than providing sound that tries to "impress" everyone is clear and sharp. You can view topic.
