Does your ute have disc brakes up front? If not they could be usefull (as could the brake booster). Some guys with more knowledge on what fits might be able to confirm what is required to fit them.

Most engine parts like the alternator and starter motor might come in handy one day.

The earlier 120Y used the imported front suspension & disc brakes & these are interchangeable with the 1200. Later 120Y's had Aussie made front end components with Girlock brakes.

These are good brakes, but have a diferent piston dimeter [smaller] & these parts should not be mixed in with the earlier stuff. You would need to rin the whole brake system from the donor vehicle, but running a late 120Y's Borg Warner rear axle is not an appealing proposition as the rear brakes do not fit the Jap axle housing under a 1200 ute.

If you convert to the jap disc brakes, be sure to use the matching rear wheel cylinders, as these too are a diferent bore size & retaining the drum brake cylinders will lead to rear wheel lockup problems, particularly in an empty ute on a wet night.

i did it, well i put the extra leaves on instead of 1200 ones, as the main leaf is not interchangable

it stiffened up the rear but also lifted it, caused understeer, so i removed em again

th 120y has one more extra leaf than the 1200 does
