has anyone ever thought of putting a mitsy RWD engine into their datto? i recently brought a 1979 lancer coupe with a 1600 *not the stock engine* in it and its actually pretty strong and has quite a bit of grunt, also its not that much larger than a a14/15. So if anyone wants to look into it, i think the engine code is 'G32B'.
Karl oh another thing i forgot to mention, it is a OHC engine and comes in both turbo and carby options.

Sounds Interesting, but I had a mate who put the 2.6 carbied sigma motor in his 78 model lancer, the thing snapped his leaf springs within 3 days...the guy was 18 or 19 at the time. About 1995 or so.
The car and engine cost less than $900 at the time, which was cheap as chips.

I think you'd have to really love your 1200 to do that. As in, seems like it would be easier to put that engine in an early light Mitsu? Did ya'll get the early 70's Cricket down there? Those were somewhat light, and I'd rather see a Mitsu donk in a Mitsu, than a Datto.

I agree with A14force, every mitsi thats over 10 years old or turboed smokes like no other car on the road. Yes theyre quick but they are stinky smoky pieces of crap.
