GT25 vs GT28

Hi All,
The GT28 turbo on my ca ute is great, but it lags like a bastard! Would going down to a GT25 affect performance other than coming on boost earlier? especially considering that I have a fairly large intercooler? Thanks

What size GT28 ? The 0.63 or 0.86 exhaust flange?

what size gt28 wil be a reason for its laggy nes, i would only go GT25 on a stock internal ca18det, as they are punchy,also is it on a stock manifold maybe a extractor manifold and external gate will help,
