I'm trying to figure out why my 210 (B310 rear isn't level. My driver's side rear wheel well is about 1" lower than the other side. What are the most likely causes for this? Do shocks or springs contribute most to the balance? I did look and didn't notice any physical damage such as bent parts. IF it turns out I do need new parts, who makes the best aftermarket part for the 210 suspension? I noticed the shocks are KYB - not sure of they're any good though. Thanks for thte help!

Shocks contribute nothing to ride height (well ... the 'gas shocks' do raise it up a little bit, not much)

Most likely the spring is worn out (fatigued). This is not uncommon. Best to get a new or used pair and swap in.

...Or get them reset and heat treated through your nearest suspension place.

But if you can get some spares, then great. If you have a little spare cash, getting some 1 or 2 inch lowered sports springs is a good investment.

Thanks for the info. I wouldn't mind a set of 1" lowering springs all around but I'm not sure where to find them. I checked RockAuto and Napa and both have front springs but not rears (and neither are lowering springs). I'll search the web and archives here to see if anything will work with the 210. MIchael

We have suspension places that will make up custom springs for your car in Australia. There are maybe 10 different places in Sydney that do it.

Lovells, Pedders, Whiteline, Jumbo (out of business?), KMac, + the many other places.

We have places that will custom wind up a set of springs for you. You just tell them the inside diameter and the corner weight and application (regular/sport), and they make them for you.

Hey Dattodude - typical Texas red-neck car junk!! But on the other hand, I've never seen those on the road.

By the way, if any of you know of a spring manufacturer in Oz who makes off the shelf springs for a '79 please let me know. I can't find them anywhere in the US. Otherwise I guess I could go custom but that sounds expensive and I'm not sure how to specify them anyway. THanks,

They told me they still have the 1200 suspension blueprints and could 'probably' make a set on custom order.

We never developed springs for the B210. In fact you are the first inquiry ever in 25 years. Dan't have any suggestions except cutting your stock sp;rings and generally that is not a good idea.

I talked to Raddat and they do have them but it'll be over $300 for the set ("King" brand springs). I don' treally have that kind of $$ right now. I can't find them anywhere else in the US besides maybe custom built, which I'm sure will also be big bucks. Thanks for the link though.

Good to hear what they had to say. They had sway bars and stuff for B110 (Datsun 1200).

There must be spring companies in the US that make springs to order? Custom rear leaf can be gotten from the monoleaf guy, but I can't find the information about it right now ...

They sell truck nuts in Australia too, saw them advertised in sporting shooter
