#1 UTE BOX IN DELUX
Reeves Posted on: 2004/9/21 6:44
Well I know this has been discussed before, I think.

Just want to be 100% sure.

My 1200 sedan g\box reverse is almost gone.
Its time for a new one.
Well I want to put on a 2000, 1400 ute one on, but would like to know if the 1200 sedan prop shaft can be used.
Are the prop shafts the same? or do I have to use the 1400 one?

The longbed sunny trucks use a 2-piece driveshaft. The shortbeds use a one piece.

The 2000 B140 used the H165 differential (HC41) if I recall the parts lists from nissan.za correctly.

I've heard, but am not sure that the H165 truck driveshafts are about 40mm shorter than the sedan or coupe shafts. Measure them and let us know ... are there any wrecking yards you could visit and check it out?

Thanks for the reply DD,

Well I did phone around, and the guys stated that the 1984 and upwards 1400 bakkies take the same prop shaft and diff as my 1974 1200sedan,
however if I had a 1200 ute it would be different, cause of different diffs used,
something to do about the 4 bolts at the rear of the prop shaft not aligning properly, square and roundish types,
and the 1400 ones being a bit shorter.

BTW, the 1400s here after 1984 are all shortbed,
The 1200 & 1400 utes loadbins were only a little narrower and longer.
