#1 weber 32/36 adaptor plate question/need help
Freak Posted on: 2004/10/6 8:23
I'm running a weber 32/36 on an adaptor plate and the adaptor plate keeps coming loose from that actual manifold. the adaptor plate and mainfold are flat. I have even put locktight on the bolts holding it on and it still comes loose after a few weeks.

Any suggestions? I'm thinking about welding them together.

There's different kinds of Lock-Tite brand products. Which one specifically are you using?

You mean that the carburetor is coming loose from the adapter, right? The adapter bolts to the manifold, then the carb to the adapter. Make sure you put the locking paste on the stud threads where they go into the adapter and use lock washers on the nuts. Remove the studs from the adapter if they've never been out, and lock those up.

No, the adaptor plate is coming loosing from the mainifold. The carby itself is tight on the adaptor plate. I have used ordinary lock-tite and a high grade one that my uncle uses who is a mechanic.

i had the same problem a couple of times, lock-tite solved it for me,

i was thinking of welding it, then someone pointed out that it would probably warp the adaptor and id never get the carb to seal on it properly

have you got spring washers on the bolts also?

On the bolts going holding the adaptor to the manifold i can't remember. Can spring washers fit down there.

Welding wouldn't be a problem if it were resurfaced.
