Gearbox additive = sucker(?)

I'm such a sucker for additives, if i walk into Auto One for fuse I'll come out with some engine or fuel additive that I really don't need as well - anyone else have this problem?
Anyway what I wanted to know about is this 'Slick 50' gearbox additive stuff. Has anyone else ever used it?... and if so have they noticed any improvements or anything at all??? Please help before I buy another additive I did not need in the first place.

If all these things are as good as they say they are. . .
I ask this: How come the manufacturers of cars around the world don't run these lubricants? Surely they would cut down on warranty claims???

Because they usually develop problems about a month after the warranty runs out.

I have used the Nulon gearbox and diff additive. It shifts really nice and no noise I just used it for an extra bit of protection.
The crownwheel and pinion didnt look that great in the H190 (surface rust from sitting) cleaned it up but some good oil in her & no noise ![]()

For the price of some of those additives, just get some Redline synthetic and be done with it. It's about 8 bucks a quart here. I run it in trans and rear. Shifts gooood

I have used the Nulon engine oil clean and radiator clean before (a few times cause I'm a sucker) and have to admit that they both did seem to clean extremely well...
But sometimes I wonder if they are at all too harsh inside your engine. I mean my tappets looked like they had never had a drop of oil on them after one treatment.

Yeah i have kind of that same problem, a bit of this a bit of that and in theory you think 'now my car will run better!' but really too much stuff is probably a bad thing.......right??
That 'start ya barstad' stuff actually worked really well for me as my A12 was sitting in my front yard for ages so after much deliberation it FINALY started with a squirt of that down the carby. Also that carby cleaner is great, makes the butterflys & passageways real clean and i noticed an increase in fuel economny!! Just dont over do it is what i keep telling myself dave

I tried the Nulon gearbox and diff additive, I was told it would quieten down a noisy diff. -
End result, added a half a dozen banana skins after the Nulon and it still SCREAM'S !!!!! .....Just hope it holds up for a bit longer while I rebuild a new diff.- Anyone have a spare set of 4.11:1 gears for a H165 ?

Save your money if you don't have a problem.
Keep the money, and buy the hottest chick in your local bar a drink. At least there's a chance for something good to come out of it. ![]() You can view topic.
