#1 200B brakes in 1200
Ash Posted on: 2005/4/9 8:43
Hey all,

I got some 200B struts with girlock calipers & I've been trying to get them to fit my '73 1200 sedan.

Someone on here posted that the springs just fit in the towers, which they do, however the 3 bolts are slightly larger than the holes in the car. Can they be drilled out?

Also, is there a ball joint that will bolt onto the 200B strut and the 1200 lower arm?

This stuff is so close to fitting, if someone's made it fit please oh please tell me what extra bits to track down!

I am planning on getting a new inserts, shortening the strut 20-40mm and getting lowers springs - ONCE it all bolts in.

Cheers
Ash

unfortuneately theres no steering arm that matches the 1200 ball joint & the bottom of the 200b strut.the easiest fix is to get either
stanza or sunny lower control arms, ball joints &
steering arms,as well as the castor arm.also get the stanza or sunny strut top.these will replace the 1200 parts.when you get the new springs,
inserts etc,get the spring perch size changed to the original spring diameter too.this will give you more clearance on between the tyre & the strut.look in the technical section under brakes,
this conversion is discussed in more detail there.

Ahh, it's under suspension not brakes, I knew I'd seen it but couldn't find it.

The article called "Suspension and Brake overview" contains the details for fitting the 180/200B struts. Here's the link if anyone else is as dumb as me & can't find it. Linkage
