trickdat Posted on: 2005/7/30 11:02
just curious to what people have broken in there engines, weather it was from over reving or running to much boost or whatever, just handy to know when building hot engines.
what do you's think?

i personally know, the pistons arnt that great when running boost, and the gearbox coz i busted 4 so far.

the only thing i used to break was the rod bolts but that was fixed with 351w ,arp, bolts. and i rev my motors hard .also if u are going for revs change the pistons to good after market ones .

yeah ,the stock pistons cant handle too much stress. I used to have a problem with the ring lands breaking between the rings.

A stock motor doesn't have enough horsepower to hurt itself. When you start to rev past eight grand, or go over about ten psi, stock rod bolts, and pistons soon start to show their limitations.
