#1 A15 no power at 5000rpm

Hi got a A15 motor,i fittet a new carbie,at 5000rpm i lose alot of power,it was the same with the old carb. Could it be my elec fuel pump? It use to be fine,

Thanx I will do that,maybe it could be the fuel filter aswel, You dont think it could be valves?? I realy hope not! . The pump is about 10years now... Wil it work if I put a inline fuel pump in that pumps constantly,the carb is a hitatche,it wont flood wil it? The other pump got a presure swith.

sorry i am newbie..
what is 'points' means?

hope someone can teach me

actually i just swapped my A12 to A15
and i feel that not much power different also.. :(
maybe something wrong..

sam1741 you can ask any mechanic but 'points' or 'contact points' is a bit inside an old (pre 1980's) distributor. if you are looking for performance out of your a15 is to get your hands on a fully electronic distributor or upgrade your contact points to a contactless system using a hall effect sensor. you can always cheaply replace your points from a car-shop but you should get a tuner to install and tune them for you.
goodluck and please use the search function, theres loads of info on ignition electrics if you just search for it. when i changed to an a15 i got a buttload more torque.
