Does anyone know the weight of a stock connecting rod?
I failed to take a before measurement...Currently I have the rods at 520 grams...Should I stop here or should I attempt to reduce more weight. The cap and nuts weight all the same ...the variation came in the rods. I have spent a great deal of time polishing the side of the beams and the small end of the rod. Any suggestions...

Was that measurement done with a stock rod?
My rods came off an A15...there is no longer any forging marks on them. My scale is definetly not as accurate as yours...since the incrementations are digitaly done by 5 grams! Does ARP make a rod bolt for this rod? or Do we have to use something intended for another application?

The word on the strret is that 351W rod bolts are the same.
A word of advise, Take the rods to a pro. They will weight each end of the rods in a special jig. I tried making a jig, and using scales that go to .1 of a gram. It didn't work because I couldn't get the rod beams level enough. Cost me $40 to get them done. Don't get too obsessed with making them lighter. So long as they are balanced, you'll be fine. It's great that you've polished them. After they are balanced, get them shot peened. this compresses the material on the surface, and stress relives them. You can view topic.
