I'm thinking about a SR20DE swap in my 73' 1200, I've herd a FS5W71 transmission (280ZX) will bolt up to a SR20DE...any truth in that?

the bell housing bolt pattern is different between the l28 & the sr20,but if you swap the front housing of the f5w box to one to suit an sr20,it will fit.it all depends on input shaft splines as to what clutch plate you'd used,
i'd assume you'd get one with the l28 centre.

Thanks for the input, b310gx, so what bellhousing would fit the SR, the KA24? The wrecking yards here in the US are full of 280Z stuff, and the 81
