#1 valve springs

Need your opinions guys, I have a 1978 model ( north american ) A-14 GX engine , it has a closed chamber round port head .it has single stock valve springs on it , what would happen if I put some double valve springs on it with the factory cam in it . because I don't know what the north american GX A-14 performance levels are compared to the A-12GX , would it kill the bottom end performance & cause premature wearon the camshaft. thats what I think ,but just want your opinion. I only trust my DATTO bros.

Dual valve-springs are for high-rpm operating. The factory ones were good for 6600 rpm, while the single springs were only good for about 6200. However, the round-port head doesn't make any extra power over about 5,000 rpm, so putting dual-springs on won't accomplish anything except cause the valve train to wear a bit faster.
