Finally got a hold of a side draf manifold. If I put in onto my stock A14 with a set of 45s will i damage anything internally on the engine?? ...or will i need t do some mods 1st before i put it on?

No you will not damage anything in your engine by running the 45's - except maybe suffering oil wash off the bores due to the sheer volume of gas that your motor wil be trying to burn. You do need to understand than unless the 45's are choked and jetted for your motor that they will probably cause it to run very rich. A cam, headwork, branches and the right set up sidies will see you grinning.

40mm side-eez might be better, but you'd still need cam, extractors and some head work to make use of 'em.

better to stick with weber dgv or twin hitachis for a stocker

what sort of cam will i need t put in and what work done on the head? The motor has been overhauled so it has a slightly bigger bore, the head also overhauled but to standard specs.

on kina a budget ryt now so cant go over bord (but i wud seriously luv t :D) ...mayb at the end of next year...

trust me 45 are way toooooo big, a fully modified 2L runs 45's. rather put in a set of 40's with, i'd say 34mm chokes and then jet it.

if you put the 45's on you will damage your engine!!!

to start of with the motor won't be able to flow those carbs, as it is bog stock, these A-12's you talk about must be full on race motors??
if the jetting is not right(flooding) he will end up washing the oil off cylinder walls, not to mention diluting the oil in the sump.
