Hey guys and gals, I'm chasing an A10 bottom end, pref. complete in Adelaide. I'd like to pay bugger all as I just want to get a look at the insides and take some measurements. Can anyone help with this strange request??? Cheers. Adam.

What part do you want to measure? The blocks are dimentionally the same as 1200's except for
1. Taller block to accomodate the longer stroke 2. They have three main bearings. 3. They do not have the pipe at the rear for the PCV. In addition to the block, they have shorter rods than 1200's & of course the 59mm stroke, three mains crank. Very early ones had a single row timing chain & a pressed steel pulley. Have I missed anything?

One of the things i wanted to know was how far apart the oil ports are compared to an oval port head? Its realy something that has to be put side by side i suppose. Cheers

Oil ports? What oil ports?
If it is to do with the means of geting oil to the rockers, then my oval port head is a direct bolt-on to an A10 or 1200, but you may have some trouble if you use a 1974 & later head, so it's not the shape of the ports that matters, it's the year model of the head. In this regard at least, the A10 & 1200 blocks are the same & if an A10 is a bit hard to find, then a 1200 would serve the same purpose. Drop me an e-mail if this is what you are trying to figure out, & I will bring you up to speed as best I can.

What makes you want to turbo an A10?
