It's all about supply & demand. If someone wants one of these, then he might very easily spend a very large chunk of the asking price just trying to find one as this is the original factory piece, so for some, the high price buys freedom from agrivation & grief, particularly if one is cash rich & time poor.

It took me about a year & a half to track down my Hemi, & I can tell you, I would happily have paid a premium to save all the drama. [& there was a lot of that]

Supply & demand, that's what controls the price, & for some of our small Datsun stuff we gotta remember, they don't make them anymore.

dodgeman is right. If you are sick for 240's, 260's or anything that runs an l series six, you might think its a bargain. Especially if you are tied up with your job and have no time to hunt stuff down. There is a lot of highly paid professionals that are in to datsuns of all kinds. Believe it or not, some people would prefer a fifty thousand dollar datsun to a 1 0r 2 hundred thousand dollar porsche or ferrari.
I would, I could have 2,3,or 4 awesome datsuns for that sought of money!

was there even a tripple carbed L6 Z car? the 432 is the only one I can think of that had triples, but it had the S20, not the Lseries. I can't for the life of me think if the Z-G had tripples or not. Might go search for some pics...

Is it possible that it's a factory competition item? The Solexes [that it no longer has] were the carb of choice for the factory competition department.
