Can anyone tell me where I can buy the small ball bearing that's in the steering box? During reassembly it got crushed, and none of the local autoparts stores can even give me the correct name of the bearing in order to buy it. PLEASE help.

that bearing is probably not a easy thing to find. did you try www.partsamerica.com?

I replaced my not long ago. Have you tried your local bearing supplier. Part number is NSK VBT17Z-2. The number should also etched / stamped in the old bearing shell....

For anyone in the US that might need to buy this bearing. A place called Monarch Bearing in Los Angeles Ca sells them. They are about $ 15.00 USD. Use the P/N supplied in the previous posting.
