i bought some trx mags for my 120Y, the back are a good fit but the front hit the shock tower at the top of the wheel, i know i can get spacers but i dont know where from, but my major problem is longer studs, can the be bought or sorced from another datsun? any help would be great as i need to get them on asap and give the loaned stockies back

Try getting sunny or stanza front struts to replace the 120y units.
Why? you ask. By the time you buy the spacers(20-50 bucks) and new wheel studs and fit them(maybe 10-20 bucks each), you will be most of the way to a brake upgrade and a solution to your problem. Spacer plates are dodgy AND illegal. Make an improvement to you car rather than stuff around with wasting money on dodgy crap. Then, after you have done the swap, you can sell the 120y front end stuff, and get a bit of money back. The 120y stuff is still popular for 1200 conversions and will still fetch a fair price.

Even if you fit the sunny struts their still gona hit, exactly the same thing happened with me on my sunny wagon.
I picked up some 12mm spacers and longer studs from a place called NiceProducts, they deal thru Bursons auto, if you want the part number i can source it for you. MAke sure you get the right offset tyres for the rims also, 195/50's are the best size tyre for these rims for such an application. Cheers Dave

Even the fabled Stanza ones will sit annoyingly close , sometimes restricing what width tyre you can put on

datrat_dave, dont know what you did wrong, but i run sunny struts and stanza struts on my utes and dont have a problem.
I run a trx rim with 195/50. Granted, they are very close to the strut, but they dont touch and ive never had the problem of scrubbing, at all. Are you sure you dont have 120y struts installed? You shouldn't need 12mm spacers and longer studs to fit trx rims If they came with the car, pehaps they had been swapped previously? Maybe you should check with another car, as 120y look very similar.

WEll the struts came straight out of my sunny wagon and have the same brake assembly as any other sunny ive seen so
The rims rubbed when they were on my sunny, i needed to fit longer studs and spacers to stop this on both cars! The offset on my tyres are not suitable i might add tho, i just went and bought cheap tyres not worrying bout the offset... Dave

Not a problem mate... I would adivse you to visit
Nice Products First to see what length of wheel stud you need, theres a great little tool in that it shows the part no. of the original studs in comparison to the longer studs. In my case a B310 (or sunny or 140Y as they describe it) originals were - NS462, & longer ones are NS4570. I bought the NS4500's but i think the part number has changed since then (2 years ago.) And theres a wide variety of spacers on the website, just click on the catoluge (its a PDF file to..) Anymore q's just ask! Cheers Dave You can view topic.
