The deluge that we had in Brisbane last week highlighted the inadequacy of the standard 1200 sedan wipers. They wipe too slow even on the higher of the two speeds. Has anybody done
an upgrade to a motor combination that wipes faster?

but, i have a question. What causes the windscreen wipers to sratch the windscreen? Coz i have a scratch that follow the exact path of the wipers on my windscreen. It's a
pretty deep gouge as well, but it's only happened on the drivers side.
What causes this? and how do i stop it? just keep it clean?

The wiper blade wore out or was damaged and the arm began to contact the glass. Eventually the previous owner (relation?) figured it out and replaced the insert but the
damage was done. Either that or your Mum scratched it deliberately because you keep on doing burnouts in her driveway.

his mum didnt scratch it she told me the other night... nah... anyways the scratch will go away if you take you bonnet off and drive around with the oil fill cap off. yeah about the wiper
speed problem, get a torch or else take out the dash, get a torch anyways and take a look at the pivots for the wiper mechinisimimimim or however you spell it, anyways put some light oil
or whatever on these pivits as it is most probably 30 years since it was last done, also pull out the multi plug going into the motor its self and spray with a contact cleaner to clean it
up a bit, this will speed the wipers up, and if your really keen get some silicon blade inserts as they slide a bit better than normal ones. but yeah, even before i did this (the dash was
out anyways) the wipers were more than all good with the only hassle being that they dont actually touch the screen at 90 m/h+ but i got over it.

I also find driving at over 100mph in the rain that the wipers just can't keep up the job. Is this a shortcoming of the car..or of my common sense as to what is a good speed
to be travelling in the rain...hmmm

Obviously you guys don't have big enough balls as opposed to wiper motors because you shouldn't need to turn the wipers on at that speed the water should be self disbursing. Alcohol.
metho and water make a good cleaner that also helps to let the water bead off without wipers (at certain speeds and rain volumes). I run it in the washer bottle as well and find the water
beads off as well as on a well polished paint finish.

my mum doesnt give a shit if i do burnouts (she calls them 'wheelies', hehe), as long as i dont break anything, and i clean the rubber off the driveway.

Just washed my sisters sunny today....did you know that on her car her rocker cover has 'Nissan' written on it, but on my 1200 sedan i have 'Datsun'
written on it........weird....

if you want man i can hook you up with a rocker cover that has DATSUN on it for her car... or a cover with nissan on it for your car. i also am developing a water spray device that
sprays a mixture of Alcohol/Water to allow the water to bead off the rocker cover at high speeds as my balls are so big that i dont need to fit wipers to my rocker covers. suck on

Keep a good coat of wax on your windshield and the water will bead off at slow speeds. Rain-
X works well also.
