hey just wondering what is a good computer lined up with a ca18det. whats the microtech LT8 like? also how much is a fuel system, just estimates.. surge tank. pumps. lines.... or would a big single pump work well enough? it has a VL pump on at the moment but its just about shagged... thanks

also what do you guys think of hilux diffs in 1200utes? dont know what ratio. it sits on approx 2300rpm on highway at 110klph with a silvia box?

You'd probably be able to import one of these, but most guys making BIG power over here in ZA uses Dicktator. Have a look at Linky dinky Dicktator.

The factory computer can be retuned and is probably the best to start with.

The main reason to go aftermarket is because you can't edit the factory computer....but in the case of the CA it can be done reasonably easily.

its already got the LT8 in it already. just running stock tho...

can anyone tell me about the fuel systems. whats better, 1 big pump. or go the full system. its not gonna be a hardcore racer. just a street driven rex eater

Knowing nothing about fuel systems, I'd say VL lift pump (same as VL turbo so why pay a premium?) surge tank and bosch 910? or another Vl main pump. I had 2 VL pumps in my 720 and they delivered enough fuel at 14psi.

I'd say being efi you'd have a return line already? if so you could fit a decent regulator in there as well

It really comes down to how comfortable your engineer is at tuning them. If you have been using a good guy and he like Haltec's go for it...if he like Microtechs or even Autronics go for it. If you give him the Microtech because of price and he has always used Motecs he will find it hard the first time to get it right
its a bit of a mine field trying to buy the right one
but looking at it now I would buy the Microtech especially if its just going to be for the street. Keep your money in your pocket.
