thermo fan is cheap and easy
porting is expensive, for potentially low power boost maybe change diff ratio or gearbox? electronic distributor

cam (depending if you plan to go turbo later) with new competition valve springs and reradiused lifters, high compression pistons ie; flat tops (also depending on if you want to go turbo later on if so then save your money for forgies) head work is good for making power later on for example if you did head work on a stock A12 you may get 5% increse in power but if you had a fully worked A15 you would get a heap of power just from the head work releasing all that power meaning the engine will only put out as much power as the head can flow
