Hi all, Im a newbie, In the past I have had holden monaros, with my last being a HX copue with a 355 stroker engine in it, but it is now sold, and I have purchased a Navara 4x4 with a KA24e in it. If I shouldnt be here just tell me to piss off. But anyway while Ive got your attention, I have a question or two.
This vehicle I have purchased, and when I get it soon, Im assuming is going to be a bit on the sluggish side, As I said I know my V8s But not so much on the EFI 2.4 litres OHCam. From what I have found out so far it has about 8.6 compression? (bit low) what Im thinking for the near future, for a bit of a boost (qikfix) boost the comp to about 9.5 and a small cam upgrade and possibly extractors. Does this make sence, to increase power and torque a touch, I want the car to still feel stockish it its driveability, but just thinking of small sensible upgrades so It feels better at normal driving, boost hp by about 20 or so. does this make sence? ... what are these motors like generally?

if you can find an early '90s bluebird SSS you should be able to get a twincam head. If it was 2wd I'd say go sr20det, but mght not work in a 4wd.
good luck

Yes Ibelieve the later KA24DE engine with twin cams was probly better as well, but what Im thinking is more in the lines of small but effiecent mods on the cheap, cam, comp, exhaust, hoping not injectors?
with the holden v8s these small mods do heaps?
