Ok, so my clutch went out.

Actually I'm sure my clutch is fine but my clutch pedal has no pressure. I haven't had time to look underneath but the pedal mech. looks fine and there was fluid in the cylinder. I'm going to jack it up this afternoon and look underneath.
Any ideas? Fixable without ordering new parts? I gotta race this friday. Thanks.

Try bleeding the clutch fluid.

quick question...
did it ever randomly feel soft prior to this? I had a few clutch slaves go in a row, don't let not having a clutch stop you from driving ;) it seems what happens sometimes, if the adjustments aren't done right, you can pop the slave out of the barrel and loose fluid, or burst a bad o ring and loose fluid. adjustment is somewhat important, or the pedal feel will be off, and it'll tend to respond badly. try to get it solved, i had to slam first gear a few times to get to a safe place... and now first gear isn't as happy as it should be... but that was like 10,000 miles ago now....

If that ever happens again, roll up to a light in neutral, then shut the car off. Put it in first gear, then turn the key and take off. Much better than slamming it into gear while it's running with no clutch. I've (unfortunately) been in that situation a few times over the years.

hmm that's an interesting idea... my starter will easily move the car, and i have a start button... clever. that's a good reason to have the gear reduction starter...

Well, I got it fixed but it still may be a mystery. I found a second slave cylinder in my boxes of junk and replaced it. Bleeded it and it works great. Put the old one back in the box. If it happens again, I'll just do the same.
At least I fixed it in time for the drags tomorrow night! You can view topic.
