Tiny tyres.

When out shopping for tyres yesterday, I came across a pair of 175x60x13's
These have a nominal OD of 540mm & are legal on rims from 4-1/2" to 7" These will help get your ride down in the weeds. Compare this to the 552mm to 554mm diameter of 5:50x12 [original cross ply for 1000] 155x12R [Radial option for 1200] 185x60x13 [common size for mags on small Datsuns] or the 575mm diameter of 600x12 [original cross ply size for 1200] 205x60x13 [The size I use on the rear of my 1000 & 1200] There are TWO ONLY. EDIT SOLD

205/60/13's are too balloony for a b10 or b110 imo

baloony tyre pics:
205/60 on 13*7" flared B110 205/60 on 13*6" B110 205/60 on 13*7" bolt on flares B110 from a performance perspective, 195-215 is about ideal width for a 7" rim. any wider or narower is a bit of a compromise for handling. stretched tyres will wear the outside edge excessively too if driven hard, and risk popping off the bead in hard cornering and risks of sidewall damage and rim damage goes up too.

The seller originally had four of the 175's & I bought two at $40 each. I figured that I would see how they look on my 5" Watinabe's on the front of my KB10, instead of 185's, & if they looked OK, then I might use 195x60x13 on the rear instead of the 205's I had been using on my sedan for many years.
At 564mm diameter, they are halfway between the 185's I had been using on the front & the 205's I had been using on the rear. The design rim width for the 175's is 5" which is what I have for the front, & for the 195's [& 205's] the design rim width is 5-1/2" which is what I have for the rear. Time will tell if the $80 for the 175's was spent wisely, or foolishly. Personally I like a little bit of sidewall 'bag' as it adds a measure of ride comfort to my 'strictly street' Datsuns & the 'overstretched' Jap look just leaves me cold.

misspelled url
diameter comparison: 155/70/12 = 20.54" or 522mm 165/70/12 = 21.09" or 535mm 175/60/13 = 21.26" or 540mm 185/60/13 = 21.74" or 552mm 205/60/13 = 22.68" or 575mm (balloonies) 195/45/15 = 21.90" or 556mm what does this mean? that few people realize (or care) that their speedos are inaccurate
