hello just a few questions for the 1000 lads out there.
1.I want to lower my wagon about 2 inch's but dont really want to use the lowering blocks iv herd that sedan springs have 1 less leaf in thann the wagons. What is the best way to lower the old gir iml hoping it will make it handle a bit better as well. 2. what seats have people used in there 1000? I want to find something a bit more comfy and hopefully something that sits a little lower and a bit further back than the stock seats maybe exa seats. But before I start buying seats that dont fit what have you boys fit in the 1000's? 3. My a14 wont stop i think its just the igition barrel being a bit flogged out but when i turn it off she doesnt want to stop and its not the timing or anything cause it doesnt fart and then evventually die it just wants to keep going anybody had any trouble like this? thankyou in advance

3) Check the antidiesel solenoid on the carb. Looks like a spark plug. I is supposed to shut off the fuel to the carb when ignition is off.

I usually have the same thing with my A14 in a KB10, I dont have an antidiesel valve on the carb, so unless u keep the idle very low like 600rpm, I have to stall it with the clutch every time i switch off.
good to see another 1000 enthusiast in perth too.

im not sure if thats the problem il check that tonight but. It only started a couple of weeks ago and its only happend a couple of times i think it might be more electrical. The other day i went to start it up and all the acc+ the fuel pump must have come on during the night weird?.

1) I did the sedan leaf trick in my 1000 wag, didnt really do sfa. maybe 1/2"? Made it a better ride tho. I also have 2" lowering blocks. Makes em handle better too, less body roll. I know the trick on how to make 1200 blocks fit a 1000. Or get em reset. Wilkinsons do it for around $80 i think??? Fronts cut that bush away!!!
2) I have S13 CA seats in mine, i dont like em. They give me a sore back! Although u sit far back and low. It has 120Y seats atm yeh? I made mounts up. 3) i thought it had a 32/36. Still looking for DCOE's? Could be ignition barrel. Last month at covs they were like $27 for a universal one. Could be deiseling? Come up and have a look at my 1000 wag some time for ideas. Or when i finnaly get mine going ill have to come down. Oh yeh HURRY UP AND GET IT BACK ON THE ROAD! -Chris

Quote:
The most common problem with this solenoid is a broken wire, causing the engine to stall at idle, not to keep on purring away. From the description provided, it would seem that there is a problem with the ignition switch & the only method of repair if this proves to be the case, is replacement.

1) Some people doe the 'reverse-eye' thing. do an advanced search in the photos section. It involves pulling apart the springs and inverting the longest leaf. The springs in the race car are too hard for a road car so its no good copying them.
2) Only got a fibreglass race seat so far. I'll be attempting this in a couple months time with my road-car resto 3) electrical. get a new switch. or at least install another switch to completely cut the juice.

thanks everyone for the help i have to get a new barrel anyway because it can be started with almost anything (screw driver ect) il see if that helps. Hey beattie i have got it licensed its been on the road for about a month now. Another question its been idling a bit high the timing seems to be allright and ive turn the idle right down could it be the advance sticking or something?
