hey i have heard that the vl turbo calipers bolt up to the 200b struts? is this correct? and also if they do what discs have ppl used with them and what sort of spacing did you have to make??

That is correct. as do certain Hliux 4 pot calipers.

Ozdat forum has a lot of info to be had about this.

Most people use redrilled Mitsu Verada disks and only require small washers/spacers for the calipers to fit nicely.

vl turbo calipers bolt onto 200b struts? you sure about that one

unless they have a different bolt spacing to all the other commodore calipers, they wont work

they do work with 180b, sunny, early stanza and early 240k struts, as they have an 80mm bolt spacing

where as 200b has 88.9mm spacing, so do the hilux calipers

also the caliper mounts on the 200b struts are different offset to 180b, so the VL calipers would have to have this different offset also....which would be different to all other comodores aswell

The other upgrade i have heard of is Lancruiser !! on the 200B struts (there big suckers) Hey PigDog on this caliper upgrade what disc would you recommend for the Hilux and or if Landcruiser is the same ??

Also anyone with struts thinking of upgrading to VL Turbo calipers, these days your going to pay to much for these as there becoming rare. try the VT calipers, they have the same bolt on spec's, available almost everywhere, cheap and the same end result.

yeah landcruiser onto 200b struts works...currently what i have on the front of mine
there are a few different landcruiser calipers though, most commonly used ones being 60 series stagered piston ones
these will take a 255x20mm disc
the hilux ones that most people use have to go onto the large offset 240k struts and will then take a 276x25mm rotor, i guess they will just take a 255mm disc on 200b struts but havnt ever had a pair to look at
but there are also hilux calipers that only take a 20mm disc, so make sure you check before getting them
turbo diesel 80 series calipers will take a 32mm rotor, all landcruiser and hilux calipers should bolt onto 200b struts though...just need to ecperiment with what disc size will fit

VL turbo calipers, just what you call them for wank factor...they are the same as VN/VP v8 ones, and all VR and VS ones
VT ones need a bigger wheel as the caliper is slightly bigger but will also take the 276mm rotor, but up to 30mm thick im pretty sure

Cheers PigDog some nice info there. im also running the 200B struts at the moment with the Girlock Calipers on my ute and will see how they go on the street. Then if not enough stopping power i would like to upgrade also.

BigD the standard 200b brakes should do the job, but if not 240k corona and gemini twin piston sumitomo calipers should bolt straight on using the 200b disc
