I will have a manual ca18det engine, gbox, ecu, etc etc left over from a sr20 swap i will be doing in about a weeks time. Engine has done 208***kms which i have done only 4000kms. Original owner was a 35 year old lady and car was stock with only a BOV on it. Coil packs have just been swapped over.

Engine sometimes idles at different revs e.g. 700-1400 but returns to normal once accel is pressed. Gearbox tends to pull when downshifting into 2nd but i have had no probs driving it.

Would be good for parts or for upgrading a non turbo sil/180

Sounds like a good deal to me. If your going to do something serious with the engine you'll want to rebuild it anyway or at least get it checked out, no matter what the previous owner says.

You get to drive it before you buy it which is a LOT more than most people get before they get the engine. $600 sounds like a really good buy. I paid $800 for mine, and while it was the friend of a friend it apparently runs, but will need a rebuild pretty soon, although mine came with a t28bb turbo.

Make sure you get as much as you can from him, from tail shaft to intercooler.

i paid 1300 for mine.. and i got gearbox engine, all the wiring

most wreckers sell them for 2grand

so its a great buy

if its just the engine with no turbo

then 600 sounds about right

its motor, turbo, box ,loom ,ecu , but high kms

the uneven idle could be a few things, maybe sticky throttle body butterfly. give it a clean and some crc around the shaft and throttle cable, linkages.
maybe the O2 sensor faulty, disconnect it and see what happens,
maybe the auto choke, disconnect that and see what happens.
