Gday, I am in the process of shortening a R31 diff for my 1200 ute. A mate of mine is going to shorten my axles for real cheap but he needs a side gear out of a crap diff to use as a template for the finished product, just to make sure the re-splining is correct.

I know it would be easy just to use the centre I already have but I am just putting the feelers out incase someone has a 28 spline borg warner side gear they want to get rid of

I've got an old 28 spline open centre & a auto ratio (approx. 2.9:1) ratio crownwheel that you can have for the cost of freight if you like.

It'll probably cost you between $30 & $50 for the freight though.... Surely there's a 78 series borgey at your local wreckers that you can pinch bits out of for less $$$.

I got it sorted, I am gonna whack a mimi spool in my diff so I stripped the centre I had and I am gonna use one of its side geaers.

Ah just too late. I already stuck a mini spool in mine and already have the gears lying around.
