Do you have to use N9YC size or can you use some other size like RC12YC?

???
WTF are you on about? I know Bosch numbers and can reconise NGK numbers but they make no sence to me? Stick to what plugs its ment to have otherwise it wont run as well as before... If at all! Sometimes you can get away with buying plugs with a differnt gap and re-sizing them though

I use Chevrolet V8 plugs in my A12, they work nicely.
For a list of plugs you may use, see wiki - Spark Plugs

Champion N9YC is too cold for the A-series. I use RN12YC, which is one range hotter than stock (but right for GM 5.7 liter). I think RN11YC is the best match for an A12 R is resistor type so that your AM radio doesn't get static ...
