We could possibly make it. See how the money end of things is goin, savin up to go to Tathra for new years. Would love to go though, havent been to Bathurst for yeears, since the last 24hour at easter..where i got to meet Fanjiooo :)

Love Bathurst dont like the V8's anymore. they bore me to tears they are just nascars.
Gimme a decent production car race or open wheeler (INDY or A1GP or even F1)race and Im there. Oh I will go to Bathurst for some Bathurst Light Car Club events. They are a top club.

I agree bert and I also agree bring back the GTR's.
Im sick of the V8's they wont even let Toyota or Nissans compete against them. they have even done that in Nascar ... let other manufacturers in..... get rid of them ...and racing in australia can at least have a bit of a spread of resources. V8's have done nothing for the sport, they have only taken.
They will eventually have races only on street circuits which will eliminate all racetracks in Australia. At least Nascar have race circuits they can race on.
I hate them....I dont even wear my HRT jacket anymore I fell sleezy wearing it...

I mean - I don't care how much HP the V8's are running.
They're Big fat & heavy which translates to slow cornering speeds.
Which means you get to see stuff all seat-of-the-pants overtaking maneouvers.

Also means 1st place pole sitter quite often takes the chequered flag.

Boring as bat$hit in my opinion.

yeah i hear you guys, last year they ruined the trackside stuff by saying that you wernt allowed to fence off an area. so we slept next to the track and still got kicked out.
this year they have allready ruined it by making the event no byo. thats complete and utter bull$hit. i miss the good days when at the chequred flag fell the chairs and lounges that you had been sitting on got set on fire in either anger or joy.
v8 racing isnt racing and niether is f1 (until lewis hamilton came along.) its just get into a line and play follow the leader, even the nsw supersprint at wakefield park recently was more fun to watch even though cars were sent out singularly.
ahhh well theres always ipra or production cars to turn to for some decent racing

I remember the first year they banned b.y.o,it must have been 1975 or 76,i had a brand new cordia turbo.We went into town and bought 4 cartons of beer,and some spirits to mix it with,we removed the side parcel pockets on the inside rear quarters next to the back seat and stuffed all the grog in there and put the pockets back.

I had to be real carefull not to hit any bumps on the way back for fear of dinting the rear quarters from the inside!

When we got to the checkpoint coming back in they checked the boot and spare wheel well,but found nothing...Didkheads!!

At least we got a decent drink ha ha
