First track day in new car

Hi guys its been a while since ive posted anything. I did my first track day in the GTR yesterday at wakefield. I really enjoyed the day. No trouble with the car all day and went suprising well. Ended up with a 1.10.731. Finished 16th from 60 entrants
I was aiming for a sub 1.10 but still happy with results. The car is soo much easier to drive than the datto not as explosive power wise and corner speed is quite good still learning just how hard I can push the car. With a newer set of semis (the ones I have are a bit old and hard)and bald on the rear. I will probably change the rear end a bit as it was oversteering quite a bit on most exits still lots of fun. Anyway here are the results. NatsoftIll post up some pics soon was a few dattos running too!! A stock looking CA18det 1200 coupe a A series 1200coupe and a SR na sports sedan 1600 also a nice 240Z. Was a good mix of cars.Old school and high tech 4x4's bring it on!!!

Thats a good time on a tight track that probably isn't the best match for the big GTR!!
As a comparison what was the best time you did in the CA?

good stuff Andrew. Glad to see its going well. It really is very different to drive than the 1200, so for a first time on the track 1.7 slower than your coupe isn't bad at all.
I think we stuffed up a bit by putting offset bushes in both ends of the main upper arm on the rear. We should have gone with one bush in each of the two upper arms, but it would have still had too much camber then... anyway, if I was doing it again I'd go with aftermarket adjustable arms like I did on the front - the bushes weren't much cheaper! you should be able to find the traction rods for the rear for around $200-250 a pair. only thing to watch for is the quality of the rose joint. I really miss the GTR, but I've got another hillclimb in a couple of weeks to help me forget about it. I do love driving the 1200 - its really is an animal at MtCotton! Hoping to knock the best part of a second off my times and beat the GTR's PB...

I imagine if you modify the GTR the way you modified the 1200 that it will eclipse the 1200 buy a few seconds or more!
Good to hear you back on the track.....

I can only imagine what a 240-260rwkw beast would go like as mine is basically stocko!!!Except for exhuast ecu susspension and good set of brake pads and bloody flies was giving all modded EVO and STI guys a good run for there money just didnt have enough go down the straights.
